At Urban Balance Wellness – Counselling North Vancouver, we work collaboratively with clients, offering a safe, caring, and inclusive space for exploration, healing, and lasting personal growth. Our biopsychosocial, strengths-based approach to therapy considers the person as a whole entity through addressing individual, familial, social, cultural, psychological, and biological aspects that intersect and influence wellbeing. We believe that our holistic approach provides a uniquely empathic perspective that encourages and supports our clients in realizing their full potential.

We will work collaboratively with you, building on your strengths to help you gain clarity and confidence, and develop greater self-understanding and compassion, improving your relationship with self and others.

Play and Art Therapy for Children

Trauma-Informed, Culturally Sensitive, Compassion-Focused

Play therapy aims at helping children explore emotions and work through unresolved difficulties. Through play, children can learn new strategies for coping and develop creative problem-solving skills, learn more effective ways to express emotion, develop effective relational skills and improve confidence and self-esteem.

Relationship and Couples Counselling

Inclusive, Culturally Sensitive, Compassion-Focused

Relationship counselling is for people wanting to repair, strengthen, and build their relationships. We understand these relationships as being connections between 2 or more romantic partners (traditional, open, polyamorous, consensual non-monogamy, etc.) or between family, friends, or colleagues.

Kelley has a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and brings over 20 years of counselling experience working with adults, youth, children, families, couples, and groups.

Kelley is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. She utilizes a strengths-based, biopsychosocial approach and understanding of the nervous system in helping clients work through various challenges including stress, life transitions, relational struggles, emotional regulation, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, separation, loss, grief, acute and chronic illness, trauma, and substance-use difficulties.

Kelley believes in a collaborative approach and works together with clients in identifying and building upon strengths and resources and fostering skills and strategies that support and encourage positive growth and wellbeing.

Individual Counselling
Kelley believes in working collaboratively to empower her clients in managing emotions and gaining new insight and better understanding of self and others. She uses a holistic, strengths-based, biopsychosocial perspective and understanding of the nervous system in supporting and helping clients work through challenges including anxiety, stress, depression, low self esteem, relational issues, life transitions, separation and loss, illness (acute and chronic), trauma, and substance-use concerns.
Couples Counselling
Kelley provides a safe, compassionate, respectful, and inclusive space where clients are supported in strengthening connection, improving communication, and exploring more effective ways of being with each other so that partners can move forward with greater insight and understanding of each other and their relationship. Kelley can help partners change unhelpful communication patterns, work through feelings of disconnection, hurt, or betrayal, discomfort with vulnerability, and worries or fear around intimacy and sex, allowing connection in a way that better aligns with each other’s values.
Family Therapy
Kelley recognizes that a family is composed of individuals of differing ages that share a common history that is influenced by culture, both past and current, yet may not see things in the same way. She works with families to support greater understanding among family members, achieve better family communication and connection, manage emotionality, solidify shared values, build and strengthen parenting strategies, and resolve parent-child/youth conflict.
Play / Art Therapy

Kelley blends individual counselling strategies with play and art therapy techniques in helping children and adolescents manage big emotions, develop confidence, strengthen problem solving skills, and navigate relationships with others. She is able to help with anxiety, depression, relational issues, emotional regulation, and improve confidence and self-esteem.

Sandra Singer

Play Therapist and Coach

Sandra has a Child Counselling Degree from the UK and is also a Certified Teen Life Coach who brings over 20 years of experience working with children, teens and their parents /caregivers.

Sandra is a member of the BC Play Therapy Association and registered with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and works with children and families as a play therapist and coach, offering counselling sessions for children and teens and parent-child sessions, as well as coaching for parents and young adults. Sandra supports parents in navigating day-to-day challenges and difficult behaviour; and youth in tackling anxiety, low self-esteem, and friendship issues.

She also facilitates parent-child interactions with the aim of fostering stronger bonds, gaining greater understanding and mutual respect.

Child Counselling

Sandra adopts an integrative approach, drawing on a variety of neuroscientific, psychotherapeutic, and cognitive behavioural theories. Her aim is to support her clients in finding their unique voice and manage the ups and downs on their journey to adulthood. Sandra can help with issues including: Stress and anxiety, low self-esteem, loss and bereavement, friendship issues, communication and behavioural difficulties, parental separation, and self-harm.

Teen Life Coaching
Teenage years are the most transformative years, where young people have many worries, dreams and ideas, yet, teens often do not know how to deal with it all. Coaching offers a place to identify passions in life and unlock potential to facilitate growth into more confident, self-aware, and secure adults. Teen coaching can help build self-esteem and motivation, improve social behaviour and communication, and contribute to healthier relationships. Coaching also encourages better organizational skills, improved grades, and helps solidify college and career decisions.
Parent Coaching

Sandra realises the importance of involving parents in the wellbeing of their child. Her aim is to empower parents in supporting their child’s emotional growth and resilience. Drawing on training in child development, parent-child therapy, she offers practical and effective tools to improve family dynamics and communication, moving families from feeling disconnected and helpless to more empowered and connected. Coaching can help navigate challenging behaviour, negative habits, aligning parenting styles, attachment and communication difficulties, and parental separation/alienation.

Elaine has both a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia and a BC Teaching Certificate. She brings over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, troubled youth, and families, both as an educator and counsellor. Elaine is also a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.

Elaine takes a collaborative approach in helping clients navigate challenges that different stages of life can bring, providing a safe place where clients can find non-judgemental supportand guidance. Elaine is experienced in working with concerns such as anxiety, depression,  grief, stress, body image, emotional regulation, neurodivergence (ADHD, ASD), family relationships, and LGBTQ2S+ concerns and identity.

She is passionate about working with others and provides counselling services in English as well as Mandarin. Elaine specializes in individual and family therapy. Her strengths-based, client-focused approach supports emotional healing and wellbeing. She believes that through providing compassion and unconditional understanding she can support her clients in developing inner strengths, confidence, and resilience.

Katie Yuen

Counsellor (she/her)

Katie has a Masters degree in Counselling and speaks English, Cantonese, and Mandarin fluently. Katie brings experience working with children and adolescents, as well as with adults and couples, and is passionate about helping her clients resolve difficulties and reach full potential.

Katie works from a collaborative, strength-focused, and evidence-based perspective. She believes in the value of meeting her clients where they are at along their wellness journey and about working together with her clients in supporting confidence and personal growth. Katie is experienced in working with concerns including stress, life transitions, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, low self-esteem, and communication and relational difficulties. Katie is also a certified Nagomi Pastel Art Instructor with the Japan Pastel Hope Art Association—art skills that she finds helpful, particularly with children and adolescents, to help tap into client strengths and potential.

Katie provides both individual and couples therapy. Katie is currently a registered therapist with the Hong Kong Professional Counselling Association and in the process of becoming registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. She is currently offering a reduced counselling rate until her registration as a clinical counsellor (RCC) is finalized.

Camilla Enns

Camilla has a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Simon Fraser University and brings over five years of experience working with adults, youth, and families. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. In addition to counselling, Camilla has a background in child and youth care and autism assessment.

Camilla’s approach to counselling is curious, compassionate, and non-judgemental. Her goal is to guide individuals towards an increased awareness and understanding of their emotions, allowing them to develop a deeper and more positive connection to themselves and others in their life. Camilla believes that we all carry an incredible capacity for growth and change, and she is honoured to support individuals through this process.

Camilla welcomes individuals facing anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, depression, low self-esteem, perfectionism, and trauma, in addition to anyone who is interested in personal growth. She uses evidence-based counselling approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindful Self-Compassion.

Elsa Leconte-Pichon is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a Master’s degree in Clinical and Psychopathological Psychology. She offers a compassionate, non-judgmental space where clients can safely explore their experiences and challenges.

Her approach is psychodynamic, client-centered, and trauma-informed. She believes in the importance of exploring both present concerns and deeper patterns from the past to foster meaningful and lasting change.

Elsa works with youth, adults, and groups, supporting individuals through anxiety, depression, life transitions, eating disorders, substance use challenges, traumatic shock, and complex trauma. She provides care for vulnerable clients, including those in crisis, victims of trauma, individuals facing illness, grief, low self-esteem, and attachment difficulties. She is committed to walking alongside her clients with empathy and care as they navigate their healing journey and create space for personal growth.

Elsa offers counselling services in both English and French. She is available for in-person or online sessions on Saturdays and Sundays.

Hatha Yoga Teacher, Yin Yoga Teacher and Prenatal Yoga Specialist.

Therapeutic yoga-based somatic therapy is an integrative practice that combines traditional yoga techniques with somatic awareness to promote healing and well-being. Focusing on the mind-body connection, this approach encourages individuals to tune into their bodily sensations, emotions, and movement patterns. By fostering mindfulness and deep self-awareness, somatic yoga therapy helps release tension, alleviate stress, and enhance emotional regulation, helping to relieve general muscular tension, anxiety, depression, and chronic pain. It offers a holistic path to physical and psychological healing, making it beneficial for anyone seeking to improve balance and overall quality of life.

Lori is a Certified Yoga Therapist with over 25 years of experience in Classical Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Mom & Baby Yoga, and Kids Yoga. Over the past several years, her yoga teaching has evolved to become more therapeutically based, now more centered on helping clients prevent and manage concerns through providing private one-on-one therapeutic yoga-based somatic therapy sessions for teens and adults. Lori’s approach is holistic, encompassing connection to self, the community, the globe, and beyond. She specializes in movement, mindfulness, and breath optimization in helping clients manage and alleviate concerns that include general muscular tension, anxiety, depression, and chronic pain. Whether you are new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, yoga has the power to transform, providing physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual benefits in expanding awareness and integrating aspects of self (physical, mental, emotional and spiritual). Lori believes that we all have vast human potential, and she would be happy to support you on your unique journey.
